Remembrance Day inevitably calls to mind the poppy, alongside the thoughts of those who fell 100 years or 1 year ago. It is such an evocative image of loss and hope and despair and courage and it is hard to imagine a flower that could better envelop those sentiments. It is no surprise that Pinterest has been filled this week with images of the poppy, whether pictured growing or crafted from one of any number of media.

This poppy caught my eye on Pinterest, from and Etsy shop in Russia. I love the delicacy and drama in the petals and the detail in the centre. There are lots of different varieties of poppy to look at on Pinterest, from simple to complex. Did I mention how much I love Pinterest?
We were inspired to have a go at our own version. This was made by my 10 year old (not bad I think!)
